Wakefire... I think Nintendo is stockpiling the Revolutions. You don't want the number of Revolutions to be coming up short like the 360s were.
Back on topic. The DS lite... Wow, they made a DS that looks like an iPod nano. Really if this was like 3 years ago I'd follow this as thats when the iPod imitators were at their peak. To top it off it's only going to have been 1 year after the DS release that they do a revison of hardware size and look. Does Nintendo really think this can keep going?

I think they're paying a little too much on revisions. If they're gonna stay in business, they should wait to let people save up for the next-gen console(the rev). It's not that I hate gamecube or anything(it had some great games), but they lost the battle with that one. I thought Microsoft was going to lose in the beginning.(Until I played Halo, that's when I knew Microsoft was coming back)

I understand that. The only thing I don't see though is how it helps their marketing strategy. People spend another 170 bucks on this thing, and if they are going to release the revolution soon, then people wouldn't have enough to buy a rev right? Nintendo is making a giant leap with the rev anyway. And I don't want to see it go to waste like the dreamcast did as it was too advanced for its time. The last thing I need is to see Nintendo fall just as Sega did.

I'm not bashing you but if that were Nintendo's plan, wouldn't it work better if the Revolution were released? I mean knowing what the Revolution and then saying "New Matching DS for your Revloution system" would sound a lot better.stuartjmoore wrote:although they do make too many revisions, the Lite is part of their new style. They want to keep the DS around, so they have to make it pretty, and match the revolution.
And as for people spending $170 for a DS then a Revolution... If people have the money to by a new DS they'll find a way to get the system. Besides you have to remember there are people out there that have full time jobs and can afford to by the system almost on a whim.

I know that people have jobs and can get it whenever they want, but the question is, will they want to? I mean if you think about all the things Nintendo's done over the years, you'll see that their consoles were never really at par with the others. And if you think about it, all Nintendo ever used to their advantage was their marketing strategies to come out on top (well that and the good gameplay on their systems). So if Nintendo happens to lose its marketing strategies, well down they go.
