A rather unusual question.....
Recently I rescued an old fax max that my church was throwing away, but I can't do any thing with it since my house only has one line and there are no ports for connecting it to a pc. So I was wondering if it was possible to get a program that would use my computer's modem to mimick an incoming fax allowing me to use it as a printer. Any thoughts? Google has yeilded nothing so far.

You can still use it to send faxes.. hell, you can even receive them, if you know when they're coming (or when you don't, but then you would need caller ID to know if you are getting a fax or a caller)Sir Games-A-Lot wrote:I can't do any thing with it since my house only has one line

Dang!Most likely not
You could open it up and see if the demodulator circuitry is seperate from the printer circuit though.
Your right..........

I should realy try to convince my parents that caller ID is worth it (would sure beat waiting for the answering machine to pick up all the time.....)
Funny that you want a fax machine to send faxes with a computer, because XP has the ablity in word or outlook. I don't remember at the moment but you look you should be able to find it.
However if the fax machine has a pass through for the phone like you should be able to turn it on to recieve a fax or just catch one when one is sent.
