My awsome N64 VR steering wheel...

Post by Fanboy »

Okay, I feel I am becoming to be known as the portablizer who has all those eccentric controller ideas (and "He who Posts far too much!) so here is my second one, the ultimate steering wheel for N64. It uses either gyros or, um... Rather large Pots (of course, this is only for up and down steering), similar to a giant joystick. The wheel functions normally, with 2 comfortably mounted trigger buttons (B and A), along with that, there are 2 c-button, peddles which are accelerate and brake. Plus, on the wheel, there is a c-pad and a switch so you can use either one. With a VR helmet and cushy seat, this will be ideal for games like Starfox64 or Mariokart64. Like my Super Nintendo Super controller, I don't intend on building this, but it is still uber sweet and hawt...

You're never going to make this... But it seems like a pretty cool idea. :P

Perhaps I read it a bit too fast... And how would someone go about making the VR helmet? Maybe use RGB from a modded N64, though only take the Red and Blue lines, and input them on two small LCDs (probably Casio TVs)?

Wouldn't work for it to be 3d you have to have the image shifted just a little bit.

Is it the blood or the width (or both) that's the problem, marsh?

Width limit is 175 pixels; I'd say the blood is the culprit.

I don't notice anything wrong. It's just a guy playing paintball with a modified gun, and he just happens to be using red paintballs.
I don't have a problem with blood, but if someone else does, you should change it.

Well, if it's just a conflict with marsh's personal interest, than I choose to civally disobey for the sole reason that I like it the way it is...

Y'no fanboy, Somebody's already thought up your idea. It's called the 'Interact V3FX' racing wheel for the N64, cmoplete with pedals, without a comfy chair or THIS (although I'm not sure what that last picture ahs to do with anything)

So I suggest you go to ebay and buy yourself a comfy chair, the racing wheel, and the headset, and you've got yourself everything you've ever wanted! Hurrah!
Hey, sup?
