ok, still not working. i have +12v and +3v hooked up to 6 and 3, and then a wire hooked from 4 to the strip of metal on the outside of the motherboard. yet the screen still only flickers (the screen, running off of its own power source. what am i doing wrong?

umm. so you just hooked the ground on the motherboard to itself? that wont accomplish anything. you gotta hook the ground on the motherboard to the ground on the batteries. the middle pin of the dc-dc

middle pin? i used a car adaptor and it just puts out two lines.

ooh. yeah sorry about that. i just assumed everyone on the forums has a dc-dc...

anyhow. youre 3.3, 12, and n64 all need a common ground. connect the negative wires together and then to the board.

how do you tell if your n64 is fried? because i have NEVER been able to power it.

A board malfuncition like that is usually a good hint that you need to divulge into a new N64.

this whole thread is about how they guy has no idea how to power it in the first place. i dont think hes gotten it right yet...

he also could have fried it at the the same time.
