Electrolytic capacitator

When I connect the electrolytic capaciatator after the dc-dc converter does it connect to both the positive and ground wires? If it does, does the longer pin attach to ground or positive, or does it matter.

you connect the side with the - markings (usually differnt colored from the rest of the cap) to ground and the other one to 3.3v

Also, on the output and input you should put a few small valued tantalum or ceramic capacitors. It reduces the overall ESR of the electrolytic cap, improves stability of the system and improves the voltage regulation under heavier loads. Good ol' power electronics!

if youre going to splurge on tants, just get a 10uF and screw the electrolytic.
