Problems

In ben's book, he uses a phono jack thingamabob to connect it to. However I'm not going with the book completley, so I just want to connect the wires to where the old power button was. How can I do this? Where do I need to solder them?

Edit: I soldered them to the top two pins where the power button used to be, and now it turns on automatically and I can not turn it off, what is wrong?

The above I fixed.
But, now I tried to attach the lcd screen to the mother board, and I attached the video cord to where the book says and I accidently soldered wrong, and the hole got filled with solder. I tried to desolder it out and it didn't work. So my dad thought if he drilled through it with a tiny drillbit, it'd help. So he did and it looked good, so I soldered the wire to it, and now the screen just stays black, but it is lighted and the volume and brightness adjustment stuff appears on the screen. It does that anyway even if the video cord isn't attached to the board. I believe somethng is wrong so the video cord can't connect up right.

Is there anything I can do?

A clearer description would probably help. It sounds as if you connected some of the wrong pins for video out, but that nothing is permanently damaged. I would suggest checking the pins to make sure you didn't bridge any of them together, and to make sure that you have ground correctly connected.

Sorry that I was unclear, I completley followed the instructions on where to solder it, and nothing is bridged together.
Now I only see in the book the cable for video in, where does the video out go?
Edit: Could it be that I haven't cut the small circuit board containing the the power connector thing. I'm using the original just to plug into the psone board. However the a/v in circuit board I cut, and tried soldering to the psone board.

Umm, after reading a bit, do I need to connect a wire from the left plug side to the ride plug side coming out of the psone lcd screen? I believe in the book they are somehow connected. I feel stupid because I can't get my psone lcd to work.
