PS2p- psone lcd to ps2

Post by Zzebotes13 »

Does anyone know if you can attach a psone lcd to the new ps2 slimline, and then just plug the battery into the psone lcd to power them both? I'm building aps2p and wanted to know before i bought the psone screen.

yes you can...you will still have to open the lcd up tho....so you can freely move the cable and plug into the ps2...u will need to buy a 8.5 V 3300 mah or more battery to power both.......8.5 volts shouldnt fry the screen...

I didn't know that! That is awesome! That should make a PS2p pretty easy to build!

it uses RGB, though, so DVDs on it are a no-no...check the stickied thread to find out how to fix that ;).
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Since both the PSOne and PS2 use the same AV cord, all you really have to due is connect the pins from one to the other, right? I'm mean, I'm a noob when it comes to anything past the PSOne...

if you wire the composite wire on connector 2 of the psone screen it won't be green, but that takes soldering and more work and not as good picture quality, but is the picture quality more important than having a green tint on everything... I think not

make sure you set the output of the PS2 to RGB first in the options/settings menu....

The AV jacks should be the same, so if you remove the latch stuff (maybe replace with Velcro?) you should be able to plug it right in without any modification.

Or do you want to hook the boards together? If so then just copy the wiring diagrams. (composite on PS2 to composite on screen, etc...)

Just a question:

The Verge PS2 screen is jsut a repackaged PSone screen, and I'm assuming it works the same. So why does the verge screen not screw up the PS2's colour, and the PSone screen does?

If you're doing a PS2p, wouldn't it make sense to just buy the verge PS2 screen?
