The 4GB RCA LYRA .mp3 player is a piece of garbage.

I just bought this thing for $150, but when I connect it to my Mac and I try to put files on it, it starts to transfer, stops after a second, then the LYRA screen says "Safe to Disconnect". I know it's supposed to work on Macs because it said on the back of the package it worked for the Mac OS. I tried emailing customer support, but I doubt I'll get anything more than spam mail.

So basically, if anyone knows the answer to this problem, please, I need help. Otherwise, learn from my mistakes and don't get this.

I got a 128mb LYRA like 1.5 years ago. I don't like the filesystem, my mom uses it for knitting podcasts now.

I only got it 'cause it was 4 gigs, and I figured if it didn't work I could return it. I'm thinking about just returning it and getting the 2 gig SanDisk one instead.

If you're okay with a 1GB MP3 player, get a mobiBlu from Walmart. I don't have one, but I hear good things about them, they look AWESOME and they have great specs.

I hate Lyras. My friend has one, they are ugly, and the one my friend had, actually FORCES you to convert mp3's into a special format just for the lyra.

Mpio sucks too. The software won't let you do anything without crashing halfways through the first ANYTHING.

If it was up to me, I'd get an mp3 player with no internal memory, and just use SD cards. SD roxzors my b0xzors.

i pod, a nice little I pod im going to send to cennar as a gift so he can have 3 ipods instead.

Screw it. I returned it, and the money is either going toward a GP2X v2 or an HMD.

Make your own, compactflash cards are as cheap as 512MB for $20.

i looked at that a while ago, im thinking about putting my mp3 player in an altoids can.....i can just rewire the switches and ports easily
