Ps2 power consumption
can you power the new PS2 slimline with a 8.5v battery. If not, it's okay. Just wanted to know

yes, though a higher battery might be better, since an 8.5V battery would slowly drop, and have too low of a voltage to run the PS2. A higher voltage battery would go down, but it wouldn't reach the minimum as quickly

Really it's suggested to go above the input voltage, but as Gamelver said "yes". The reason being is that when a battery gets a heavy draw (like the bootup) the voltage can drop and so the system will shut down or restart.
