I decided that instaead of building a ps2p, ia would instead build a PSonep. I was wondering if i could use a 9v battery to power the psone lcd and psone. It has 5400mAh. I was planning of plugging the battery into the screens power in port, and then plugging the screen into the psone that way i could power them both. My question is, will this battery fry the screen and psone, or is it okay to use such a high voltage on the psone.

it will fry the screen and most likely the system too.

The best battery to use would be a Sony InfoLithium L type. The Psone and its screen both need about 7.5v
Of course any battery will work if you can connect them together to get about 7.2-7.5v.
An r/c car battery (
www.towerhobbies.com ) would be good also.

psone screen's not that picky. mine runs fine from 8.4v and i heard you can run it on 9v but no higher

yeah, but it's a risk......i would go for some sort of Lithium battery.....they're pretty good.

how about just using a 7808 to regulate the power? if its a 9.6 volt battery, he could just take out a cell, that would be simple.

i don't have a psone so no, i only powered the screen. it would probably work though
