Any Geniuses around?

Post by Kid Capri »

Does anyone know much about military strategy. I'm working on an assignment for class and the big question is what actions should the U.S. take in Iran (not Iraq). Are there any specific websites avaliable
Plus I have another assignment on Capital punishment I will need charts, graphs, pictures, and many more words to turn a three page assignment into a 80 page assigment in two days.

Notice how I spelt the title wrong sign that help is needed.
Don't have a computer that uses Outlook express. What happened to the days when people only used Yahoo.

.

about 115 known cases(stated on a TV show I saw yesterday about a man who spent 17 years in death row before he was found innocent.) of people who were convicted of capital crimes and later fouund innocent(don't think all of them were killed though), but the guy I saw was railroaded by prosecution. urns out what he thought were painkillers for his back were anti-psychotic drugs to make him incoherent during his trail until he was in prison. The doctors said he needed no medication, so it was done illegally.

Unforunately, prosecutors(and maybe judges) are not held accountable in their actions. They can't be tried, and judges can't even be sued. THAT is a major problem--prosecutors who don't care if the defendant is innocent or not. They are paid to put people away.

I do, however, believe that the death penalty should only be used in cases with irrefutable evidence, such as DNA evidence.

I know a college student in my english class who is doing his term paper on capital punishment. If I can remember to ask tomorrow, I'll ask about his sources for you. Some of them may be about juvenile crimes too, though.
Warranty-Voiding fun!

I'd like to know how they just throw one sample out and use the other one twice.

One of the major arguments against capital punishment is that it is so expensive to house, go through numerous trials and execute. I forget the exact numbers, but it is like 100's of times more expensive to put a person through the capital punishment process than to keep him in prison for life.

I did a 10-page paper on just that aspect alone in college. You can find plenty of information.

I looked stuff up about capitable punishment before. The lawyer cost is about 5 time higher, the court cost is close to 10 times high. That is because people put on death row are given limitlest appeals so that drives price up.

Someother issues that may make the paper the best I've ever wrote would be rather the mentally retarded should be executed. If so what would determine a mentally ill person. And the biggest issue of today, should minors be executed (those under 18).

I'm against the death penalty in general, especially for minors and the actually retarded. Also, JackFrost, I'm Catholic as well but just because you are Catholic doesn't mean you have to agree with everything that you are told to believe in or the beliefs of the Pope. If you do, then more power to ya

Look as far a metally ill goes I believe Utah has it right. For you to be considered mentally ill you have to have almost no consiase control of your action. Those mormans dont let anyone use that stupid trick to get less punishment out of the court system.

Also I think its funny that there are that many Catholics (I'm one as well) but religone doesnt dictate how I feel or effect my desisions on a piticular issue.

Yeah I agree with this entire thing... Though in Canada there is no death penalty so if you mess up bad you get life in prision, not death. Also, Im Catholic too, (dont make this into a religious debate), and I think you should believe what you want to. I dont agree with everything the Pope says, but that dosent mean I dont listen to anything.

I know we're not arguing or anything, but perhaps this thread should be locked. Ben is very against political threads on the boards, and even deleted the old thread. Also, he hinted against religious stuff as well. As he said they said (or something like it)
if you want to keep your friends, don't discuss politics or religion
