Daguuy,
I totally busted the switch, it is unsalvagable. Is there a way to just set it so that it is always on? Thanks.

daguuy,
Thanks so much. You rock. That totally worked. I was so psyched to see that little red light light up a again. My covert semi-corded n64 project is back on track.

Can I power my screen by doing this?
Hi guys I'm wondering if for the purpose of powering my psone screen I can use the 12v line from my n64, run it through a 7808 and into the +7.5 volt line on my psone screen. Thanks.

the 12v line on the N64 takes roughly about 100-500ma (depending on what game you play). the 12v line on the PSu supplies 800 ma so if you try to power an N64 and a screen with a linear regulator it probably won't work (unless you do the LED mod). if you did the LED mod it would probably be safe to power it with a 7808 but if not then you'll need a dc-dc convertor so it draws less power from the PSU (and you could also get a 5v dc-dc convertor to save power by replacing the N64's 7805)
