Powering

I'm having a hard time finding something I can use to get 3.3v from by using a 7.2-8.4 volt battery. It's getting horribly annying and impeding progress on my portable. If anyone has a liknk to a product that would work and I can get it Canada please post it. I already got a free dc-dc converter but can't get a good 9v.

try the adjustable regulator

But is there some kind of car adapter or something I oculd get from radioshack or best buy. (best buy in canada doesn't have as great a variety as the us one).

there's a 3V car adapter at Radioshack, but 3V isn't really enough, and causes some distortion in the video and sound.

the adjustable regulator is at Radioshack, too, and all the info you need should be in the sticky.

The max output current for that is too low. You need something that can output atleast 1 amp, or 1.5A to play it safe.

Google LM2670T-3.3 .
It's made by National. Read the datasheet and it has a schematic, and you can use the guide to figure out the parts values.

ya sry I just noticed the amp output on that.

oh and can I just order a sample of the LM2670T-3.3?
