Casio video out

Now this may seem like an odd question, but it has its reasons

Does anyone know where to get a video OUT (i already know where to get audio out) from a casio pocket tv

most of the casio pocket tv's are fairly similar, i happen to be using an SY-20

the reason i want this is my parents wont buy me a tv for my room, and ive got better things to spend the money on. but i do have a (some what dated) projecter in my room

pocket tv + video out + projecter = cheap widescreen tv

why would you need video out to use it with a projector? just put the TVs LCD in the projector and BAM! you got a video projector!

that would involve taking apart the projecter wouldnt it? and besides i still want to use the pocket tv as a pocket tv

essentially i just want to use it as a tuner and aerial

its quite an old one, bit chunky but i got it for free so im not complaing

Its not a slide show projector its a proper one with 2 composite audio and video ins and an rgb in (but the max it'll run at is 800x600 but text is unreadable so really its only 640x400)

Nope. Almost all portable TVs will have integrated ADC circuitry that goes straight from RF right to digital RGB for the screen. (On passive matrix screens it could very well be analog RGB though.)

The SY series Casio TVs are cheap, I think it might be a passive matrix screen.

EJ, another thing you could use as a tuner is a VCR. You can get VCRs for like $5 in thrift shops, or just cruise around checking curbside on garbage day (or the night before), you might just find one free for taking. If you go the thrift shop route, look for a stand-alone or snap-into-back-of-TV (that you could easily make a stand for) "rabbit ears" antenna too.

hmmm that could be a possibilty, i see if i can make it discrete

i know the SY series is crap, i wasnt planning on using it in any portables but im still not complaining as it was another freebie

im a scavanger at heart.....

I just mentioned that about the SY-20 because marshallh said if it was passive matrix, it might have analog RGB signals on board, which you could interface to your projector.
