Finally got my psone screen and began taking it apart. I'm having a little trouble wiring it to this plug I have that has video,audiol/r plugs (Yellow, red, white). Well I'm not sure that is the problem, I have them hooked up alright but when I try hooking anything up to the rca plugs my screen goes good for about 1-2secs and then the backlight cuts out and the screen becomes very dim. I haven't bridge any connections I checked. I haven't hooked pin 12 to the 5v regulator leg. Not sure I need to, can't get ahold of any LEDs as of yet. But could anyone shed some light on the backlight issue?
I was running it from an adapter, 7.6v But that's all good. I can't believe I didn;t do the obvious and just use the wires from the 2nd slot rather than soldering on the back. Just spliced the wires and connected my av plugs to them, works good now, but if I have the brightness up to high or the volume the backlight cuts out. I'ts not a major yet cause I can see everything if I keep the brightness bout half and volume just before half.
It really seems like you're just not getting enough power. Did you CHECK the batteries to make sure they're outputting enough volts? And what's their maximum current drain vs. your portable's requirements? It could be as simple as your batteries can't put out enough amps fast enough.
