GP2x vs. Nicholai

Another good reason to why I really don't want a plazma TV. Who wants to spend 2 grand on a TV and in 15 years have it look like crap.

That's OLD plasmas that weaken. New ones have self lives the same as CRT's or LCD's. So, if you don't worry about your CRT screen changing, you shouldn't worry about plasma screens.

I'm waiting until OLED screens are avalible and competitively priced.

Our old CRT TV started to look bad, so we cought a new CRT. They're going to scrap analog RF broadcasts and switch everything to digital within 4 years anyways, so why bother getting a 27" LCD or plasma when we're just as happy with a 27" CRT? (We have the TV at an angle to the walls in the corner of the living room anywyas, so the space would just go to waste with a flatscreen. Plus the cats would probably find a way to knock it over...)

Everything should be LEDs now. You can grt roughly the same amount of light from a 3 watt LED bulb that you can from a 60 watt incandecent. OLED screens don't need backlighting; just imagine the battery life on a portable built with one!

But that's all a dream until they make cheap LED screens and bulbs.

I'm trying to convince my parents to get a new CRT HD TV when our 32" Toshiba starts to go bad. Bic you've got a point, if my family got a thin LCD TV we'd have a lot more space in our living room.

oleds and E-ink will be the own all for portable stuff but SED TVs will pwn for home intertainment! SED tvs
