Gameboy Screen
Is there any purpose to use a gameboy screen for anything at all besides to play gameboy? Can you do any projects with them. Not portable projects but any projects? (That would be cool if someone could make a mod to make a gameboy screen work for a portable system)
Re: Gameboy Screen
Gamlever used an SP for his first N64p, but his friend sold it without his consent, but he had to use the entire SP and a TV tuner because the ribbon-cable goes directly into the mother board, instead of being an added periphal like say: the PS1 screen. (btw the tuner was pretty big, not recomended.)ValiantVenality wrote:Is there any purpose to use a gameboy screen for anything at all besides to play gameboy? Can you do any projects with them. Ok here's a quick reference I wish everyone who wants to use a Game Boy screen would read:
GBO, GBP, GBC screens: Useless. They don't have any way of getting composite signals into them, not without reverse engineering and building your own encoder board (which would be insanely difficult). Besides the resolution stinks. (IIRC it's 80x85 or something)
GBA, GBA SP, GBM, DS screens: It is possible to use one of these screens, but you have to buy an adapter cartridge, and you have to leave the entire Gameboy intact. The only real reason for using this method would be the new backlit SP or the DS. But remember the DS will only use the top screen, as it does with GBA games.

they're (;)) also, like, digital
. there's a converter made to convert the digital signal to composite, though, so perhaps if you reverse engineered that you could make it accept a composite or RGB or s-video input.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
