my mom said i need to do some after school activites.there are no sports starting wright know so i had to sign up for drama..................the only good part is im on the technical team.no acting required.my question is do your parents ever make you do crap like this and do you know what the tech team dose besides lights and music

Hell yes i know what you mean. My parents signed me up for piano lessons. I've taken them for 7 copulate years and it sucked hard. I hated it SO bad, i never ever practiced, then finally last year i had a giant fit and i finally got to quit piano. Also my parents signed me up for a dance class thing but that wasnt too bad because the girls were nice

(although later i quit because they were on Saturdays and that was my devoted Go-to-the-White Sox Game, day)

i like the way you think my parents wanted me to start running cross country this year because my brothers started in high school also and it just seemed li8ke a good idea i guess. but it worked out for me it turns out i like to run after school and it was a good oppurtunity to make some pretty good friends my freshman year. and now im running winter track and might do spring if i dont go out for baseball

I live too far away from my school for me to participate in sports (I am not sports-ept anyways). I take ceramics, and this is my first semester of it. Today was our second day of class, and the teacher hasn't shown us anything, and I made a really good pot (and I havn't even taken this class before!). I'll post pics once I'm done.

Well if drama is anything like what I know of, you're likely going to be doing the setup of all that equitment and removing it after the show. Really if you want something that would be worth getting into, go for the mixing board on the music portion.

Luckily for me my parents really didn't force me into things. But then again I was into sailing, SCUBA diving and karate. All that are multi year interest/sports.

@ Motoman: *G spits drink on cpmputer monitor*... dance class...GRRRRR! My parents forced me to take them with a girl I knew (and kinda liked). It was awful at first (on the way outside I protested by kicking over a rusty metal bar on the porch (they didn't like that!). But then with the girl there it got kinda tolerable, then I stopped liking her (for reasons) and it got even worse than when it started. By itself, I have and always will 100% despise dancing. The only way I would ever tolerate it again is if there were 20 semi-naked slave girl outfitted Leia Skywalker clones doing the foxtrot... Yeah... that would make it more fun.

Guitar is fun, I would reccomend you try that a little (why? just for the heck of it I guess. It's not really a extra curricular activity... unless you have a band..). I was on a B-ball team 2 years ago, that was fun. Then there was karate. But all those they asked me about and I wanted to do them. It's when they sign me up for somethig I think my life would be better without, that pisses me off to no ends.

I am on the rugby team. Btw drama = kick ass cause chicks love to do drama, so you get the crop... although tech team is prolly not your best bet.

It depends really on what kind of drama teacher you have.

You see our drama 10 and 11 teacher was kick butt. You know a really, hard core videogame junkie.

Nothing like haveing a teacher thats so kick ass that he hangs out with the guys and plays Rifts and D&D. I mena hes 6 years older than most of us.

In the end it makes me wish the rest of my teachers were that cool

My parents made me do swimming. Before december of freshman year, I smoked and commited crimes and crap, then I quit smoking and hanging with those people for swimming, knowing itd hurt harder if I kept smoking and crap.
Now, Junior year, I'm a pretty decent swimmer, I've met some really good friends, and I got away from the path I was going.
The kids that I used to hang out with dropped out only a few months ago, I would never had followed suit, but I'm glad I got away from hanging with them, and now I think they're total poop egress.

Moral of the story, sometimes, a lot of the times, you're parents are making the better choice.
