NOAC in a Cartridge Stack

I'm going to put my NOAC in a stack of NES cartridges.

See page 2 for old pictures. Will take new pictures when done wireing.

Ok, got it working. The power conversion circuit is dead, though.

that is a cool idea and most of the case would already be done

and you could probably just mount a psone screen onto it

Ok, I've wired it up, and it takes over controller port 2. I can still retain the use of controller port 1 for a real NES!

I've ran into a snag with the location of the NOAC. It's either coming out the side, the bottom, or in front of the controls. I think I'm locating the cart slot on the bottom.

It's doing great, just played SMB 2! I still need to finalize the location of the cartslot and it will be good.

I relocated the A/V board, the power plug and switch, and it worked. When I put it ino the NES Advantage, it would not display video, then nothing, so I gave up. I rescued the NOAC and the most important parts other then than the Advantage, and I will use them again.

I took off all the power parts and made myself a schematic from the cracked up board. I freeformed the parts into a more space conserving power supply. It works like new, but tinier. I never knew 7805's got that hot!

If I run by any good cases, I'll give them a shot, since I completely squeezed my NOAC size down. Maybe I'll create a Mini-NES?

Ok, more updates! My Super Joy III happened to have the built in games on a seperate board, so I had a single sided PC board.

I managed to slice the extra board off above the cart slot, and rewire the ground wire. It works, and it's much smaller, enabling me to use a tinier case!

On this NOAC you could possibly remove even more, but that's not very much, and it's not worth it in my oppinion.

I drilled a series of holes and chipped off the board, so that made it real easy to chop.
