What is everyones fav battery to use.

I think a lithium polymer battery is amazing. my second fav is li-ion. how about every one else?

These. Cheap ($3 a cell), reusable, and I can get almost any voltage I need from them. Not to mention they charge in 15 minutes. And since they are Ni-Mh, they have double the life of a Li-Ion. I've used them for 2 years now and they still haven't quit on me.

Wal-Mart, Menards, anywhere. And you don't have to use the special IC-3 charger, they can charge in any AA Ni-Mh charger too( just not in 15 minutes).

lipolys are my favorite just because they are thin and have so much power but they can be annoying also with all the protection and what not

(Just a question, would I need some special charger with a protection circuit or could I just jam it into a wall with a transformer?

I'd go with rechargeable AA batteries. They're fairly inexpensive, rechargeable, somewhat compact, and in a pinch you could buy disposables to temporarily run your portable.

Unless there are cheap AAAs with good capacity...

Just for the heck of it, I want to get one of those 50 pound, 12 volt, 70 amp hour sealed lead acid batteries, make a backpack out of it... and uh... camp out at the next Harry Potter movie line or something...? Just because.

Seriously though, maybe a mere 20 pounds wouldn't be too much to carry on my back, provided I wasn't carrying too much extra or walking/sprinting around too much. Maybe for a long airplane/bus/car trip. Getting through security should be fun...

Someone should try this sometime?

Gonna be experimenting with mobile phone (cellphone to you Americans!) batteries though.
