Hip Gear Screen Help
Hello,
I am using a hipgear screen with a power player super joy...
I first hooked up the screen to the super joy(just power and viedo)
the screen powered up fine but no viedo display.
So in another forum I found a post stating that the hipgear sold from canada required more than 6v to power...so being unsure if that was true
I used a 9v battery and installed a 7805 to superjoy...still no video display.
Then I made a screen ajust board and viedo boost(as per Ben's book)
and still no viedo display.
So to my question's
1. do the controls have to be wired up to get a display
2. is it possible the hipgear is bad(came off ebay knowing i had no way to test it I purchased it from a seller with 100% feedback and claimed it was tested and worked fine)
3. is there any other idea's or tricks someone might have
I have checked and tested voltage and connections everthing seems to be correct.
I have built 2 of Ben's projects using the PS1 LCD...and have no idea about the hipgear.
Sorry if rambled on but before I purchase another HipGear I would like to know what may be wrong with this one.
Thanks

Thanks for the help...
I did use AA's also...so more than likely I got a bad HipGear...Don't have more tricks up my sleeve.
I'm not sure what you need as far as controls
Do you need the whole control board from the Power player or buttons let me know...and if I have what you need I would be glad to send it to you
just cover th postage
Thanks again

Wait, a 7805 regulator outputs 5v, correct? You said that the super joy requires 6 volts at least to run, so perhaps that's the problem? If not, excuse my newbiness.
