Download CrapCleaner.

www.ccleaner.com

The first time I ran it, it freed up 4gb. It just deletes temp files/internet cache etc.

Not much ypu can do but delete some stuff. If the computer has a CD drive and you have the install CDs. Unistall all the programs you can, defrag and then reinstall and defrag again if you so choose.

-Empty the recycle bin and drag its percentage slider down to 2 or 3 percent.
- http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com run this program, then run RunThis.bat. It will delete crudware and purge the temporary folders. I freed up about 400 megs with it on a school PC.
-If you know what you're doing you can change the pagefile size
-purge the temporary internet files
-uninstall programs you don't need
-back up all the extra stuff you don't need on the lappy to a CD-R
-check other user profiles (if any, and proviing you're running an NT based system) for unused/garbage files
-run the Disk Cleanup Wizard
-Defrag. Sometimes you cna free up a little space by doing this.

do you have another computer on your network? consider keeping all your music there, and streaming it to your laptop when you want to listen to it.
