Desoldering issues

Im working on my portable nes and im having lots of problems desoldering the video box and expansion port. Does anyone have any tips. I have ben's book and his arnt working too well. Thanks.

Sounds like you need to put some flux on the solder points to help it melt. If that dosnt' work mayve it's time to try a hotter iron.

OK i got it. I had to desolder everything i could. Then use the dremel to cut the metal tabs even with the board. Finally use a soldering iron to loosen the connections up while i pry them apart. This was way to much work to desolder something...
