I can understand some people beliveing Intel is the best, after all they hold over 80% of the PC CPU market. And yeah I know they pump out higher speed CPUs too. That's where they stop. Intel was late to making a fully functional 64bit CPU for PCs, to top it off their IA64 CPU line is not backwards compatible with the x86 architecture.
The other thing they are short on is reliable speed testing. They rate the CPUs running 100%, sorry but that just almost never happens in the real world with standard PC users. The high speed of the CPUs doesn't mean much if you don't have the FSB to suppor the CPU's speed. For example a 2.26GHz P4 running on a 533MHz FSB isn't going to be able to get the CPU up the peak performace.
If you want to see a review of AMD vs. Intel here you go. It's also up-to-date talking about the Dual Core CPUs.

I am a geek.
There is a video of an AMD processor EXPLODING on video.google.com.
Just type in 'exploding CPU' into the search box, and you should see it in the first page.
The guy overclocked a Duron to 4ghz, and THEN REMOVED THE FAN!
I won't say anymore, you'll just have to see it for yourself, it's too darn funny!

If all else fails, take it apart!

Is this what you're looking for? Kinda stupid really. What moron would remove the heatsink and fan from a CPU well it's running? Also the only reason the P4 survived is that it has a builtin system where if too much heat builds up the CPU slows down to keep from burning out.exploding.

GAWD Kurt. The video is of an AMD Atholon proccessor, not XP, not 64.Kurt_ wrote:I'm having a dispute with a fellow classmate (LOSER ICKY AMD LIKER) and I was wondering if someone had the link to the movieon the itnernet where he removed the fans and watched the AMD burn to HELL!!!
Toms hardware guide is also a rather biased review site, I wouldn't really trust too much of their articles.
Intel P4's are absoulute crap. They are over-priced, over-clocked, pieces of trash (not even mentioning how hot they get). They make up for their lousy artitecture by raising clock speeds over the roof. This is most noticeable on the early P4s; they actualy performed worse than their P3 ancestors.
I wouldn't even use one of those things as a comb (afrotechmods).
Now I'm not saying all Intel proccesors are bad, only the P4. That said their new Pentium M (based on P3 by the way) mobile line-up looks rather promising (lower clock rates with higher performance, runs cooler, less power consumption).

Yeah that's the video thanks.
And what I need is a biased video
It wouldn't be much of an arguement otherwise. Like arguing over which sports taem is better. Unless you're arguing over the leafs and florida panthers. Although one could raise the point that one IS better than the other, and argue on that subject for awhile.
(Using this video and ONLY the video is like me cheating and winning:P)

And if you don't state both sides like the fact the P4 has the system builtin or the fact that AMD CPUs are generally superior, then your just a liar! You take the good with the bad in an argument, if you can't take that don't get involved in discussions with the big boys.

*chanting* G-5! G-5! G-5!
Seriously. Amd vs Pentium vs Celeron. I don't really care, as long as it does what I need it to. (not a whole lot more than Unrreal Tournament and Worns World Party and Project64)

edit: those videos are also like taking parts of a dogs brian out wile its still alive, if the dog slows down how reliant on its brian is it? if the dog dies right there and freaks out how more reliant on its brain is it? so i dont think that that kind of test proves any thing.
