iPod vs. Xbox 360?

Possibly two of the (most widely accepted) coolest (definitely most expensive) consumer gadgets out now are the iPod and the Xbox 360. As the 60 gig iPod and the Xbox 360 are the same price, I though it would be neat to compare the two in terms of total entertainment. Granted this is a game-console centered site, but I thought it would be an interesting discussion.

judging by dollars per pound, i'd have to say XBOX 360 is a better deal

Judging by dollars per enjoyment, I'd have to say the ipod is a better deal.

The cool thing about those too items is the Xbox 360 can actualy connect up too the iPod through the Xbox's HD adapter. Tho if I was offered a Xbox 360 or an iPod id take the 360.

Lets take a look at these two items.

360 is by Microsoft, we've heard many reports about games crashing and not that many (good) games are out yet.

iPod is by Apple, the thing is on it's 5th generations and plays videos, songs and photos.

If it were me the iPod, Xbox came later for me and that's what I'm doing this time too. Wait til there are more games and the system is better built (like verison 2 or 3).

So true man. If I had that kind of dough I would spend it on something more useful, like a PC upgrade.

The iPod plays Helicopter, Breakout, and Music Quiz, all more fun then whatever the 360 has right now. Except geometry wars. But you need live for that.

Add to the stuff said in the iPod vs. PSP thread, and some of the stuff here (but the iPod isn't overpriced, its the cheapest in its size range if I'm not mistaken, except for like Chinatown brands).

iPod = 10/10
360 = 4/10
