Commodore Returns....as a Handheld??

It comes with a 20GB hard drive running Windows CE, and offers GPS functionality.

Well that's somthing you don't see every day('Specialy on a Commodore!

) I would buy one just for those features but with eight bit games and the lable, looks like my wallet might be losin' some weight in the near future (if it doesn't turn out to be vapourware

That they did but i'm still holding out for the DTV 2nd revision Maybe that one
will suport connection to to more than hot, power-hungrey, massive, radioactive floppy drives. Ok maybe not the last one but still.....

Apparently the price tag is going to be coming in at a steep $700 US and with ANOTHER handheld entering the market it is sure to fail. However, Commedor's company (that uses the Commedor name) is making many other products including a GPS system. But for a cheap, reliable GPS system just go pick up a Gizmondo.

i remember reading somewhere that with the commadore plug in and play thing people have added disk drives and keyboards...

i think it was in edge magazine

Yeah, adding keyboards and Commodore disk drives to the DTV arent hassles. But, you can only use PS/2 keyboards, and theres no small keyboard with that interface. The disk drives are as big as cadillacs. With a combination of the two, its impossible to have a reasonable Commodore portable.

Well you can tare apart a PS/2 keyboard and make it smaller, you know rebuild it simalar the Atari 800 Laptop.
The disk drive is being worked on by having a compactflash alternitive. But it's in Beta right now and I have yet to find anyone selling them. To clear thins up IDE64 has something simalar but it plugs into the cart slot.

So hopefully by the time the C64 DTV 2.0 comes out we'll have these two solved.

One tiny PS/2 keyboard.

Why not just use one of those PlayStation 2 keyboards? Like this one.

Sparkfist, I meant there's no mini-ps/2 keyboard you could just go out and buy, like the USB Playstation 2 keyboard-thing, among others.
And I know of Jim Brain's CF adapter, except after hearing nothing of it for months, I've kind of thrown that to the wind.

Also, when at the dtv hacking forum, I found this, iec-ata adapter.

Why dont you just get a USB to PS/2 converter, i have one for my Win98 PC which doesnt like my USB mouse. but if i use the coverter it has no problems
