Not necesarily... I believe it was supposed to come out last summer, so 2005 is the delayed date. I hope they don't charge more than XP home, though

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, they've already released a 64 bit version of XP. However it was only compatible with Intel's Itanium and Itanium2. The next version will also work with Athlon64 and other CPUs, though.

If Microsoft has released a 64bit compatable OS then its really limited. I know because they're still behind on Longhorn that is suppost to be 100% compatible and be their next generation of OS (meaning more crap and less compatablity with pass OS programs).

I think it was released around the same time as Home and Pro. I think the main limitation was CPUs it supported.
