story idea

I recently read some of the canterburry tales in Adv. English. Now we have to make our own. Pretty much i need to write a poem or story that has to do with modern life. It can be a sattire(sarcastic) or a fairy tale type. It has to have a moral to the story tho. Any Ideas?

once there was a guy named billy. he wanted to get rich so he stole people's door mats and sold them for $7.83 each to members of the italian mafia. then one night when he was sleeping, he was visited by 3 ghost-like TV commercials that showed him his past. he thought it was a stupid dream so he woke up and broke his TV by throwing a jar of pickles at it so he stole a new TV and pickle jar from his neighbor. then he wanted cable so he stole his other neighbor's cable wire. that night, he was visited by a real ghost. it was the ghost of someone who died by stepping on penut butter that he covered up with a door mat until the mat was stolen because he was allergic to penut butter. the ghost grabbed him by the spleen and dragged him down to hell where he was condemned to play king kong DS with an intellivision controller for all eternity. the moral: don't steal

Spleen dragging I could stand. Playing King Kong on DS I could stand. But...the Intellivison controller... thats just too much.
