Power
How would I connect a battery to a NES without having to soder things and stuff like that? Or could I just use the power cord because I just need to check something. (That would be cool if you guys could tell me the batery way so i dont have to mess with it antmore)

Um, I don't quite understand what you're trying to do. If you just want to see if it works, by all means, use the power cord. If you want to actually build a portable, you won't get far without being able to solder, but if you REALLY want to hook up a battery without soldering, simply buy the adaptaplug from RadioShack that fits the NES (they'll find the correct one for it; just ask) and use a continuity tester to find which prong is which contact (tip or sleeve). Then strip the wires on the battery and connect them to the correct prongs. The NES should turn on when plugged in to it. If it doesn't, swap the connections and try again. If you still get nothing, get a soldering iron and some solder for $15 and learn to use them dammit!
