Neo Geo MV-1C Help

Post by Neo Si »

Hello everyone,

I'm interested in modding my consolized MV-1C NeoGeo with a UniBIOS and Stereo, but I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer please (maybe Mr. Heckendorn himself)?

Regarding the Stereo mod, in the pic, which line is L and which is R?

I assume by doing this mod the sound is coming out at non-amplified line level, and therefore the vol control on the MoBo will no longer work?

I'm also wanting to install a UniBIOS. Now the Eeproms that Razoola provides are 27C1024s, whereas I believe the MV-1C BIOS is equivalent to a 27C400. So I've made up a table with the wiring connections:

M27C400 MV-1C BIOS/Pin#---->M27C1024 UniBIOS Eeprom/Pin#
A17/1---->//////
A7/2---->A7/28
A6/3---->A6/27
A5/4---->A5/26
A4/5---->A4/25
A3/6---->A3/24
A2/7---->A2/23
A1/8---->A1/22
A0/9---->A0/21
Chip Enable/10---->Chip Enable/2
Gnd/11---->Gnd/11
Output Enable/12---->Output Enable/20
Q0/13---->Q0/19
Q8/14---->Q8/10
Q1/15---->Q1/18
Q9/16---->Q9/9
Q2/17---->Q2/17
Q10/18---->Q10/8
Q3/19---->Q3/16
Q11/20---->Q11/7
Supply Voltage/21---->Supply Voltage/40
Q4/22---->Q4/15
Q12/23---->Q12/6
Q5/24---->Q5/14
Q13/25---->Q13/5
Q6/26---->Q6/13
Q14/27---->Q14/4
Q7/28---->Q7/12
Data Output / Address Input/29---->//////
Gnd/30---->Gnd/30
Byte Mode / Program Supply/31---->Program Supply 1
A16/32---->////////
A15/33---->A15/37
A14/34---->A14/36
A13/35---->A13/35
A12/36---->A12/34
A11/37---->A11/33
A10/38---->A10/32
A9/39---->A9/31
A8/40---->A8/29
///////---->Q15/3
///////---->Program/39
///////---->NC/38

Could someone please confirm if this is correct?

Thanks very much

Help, someone please.....

I've noticed that the 8pin IC I'm supposed to take the stereo signal from is labelled differently on my board. In the pic, it's 9480F/2543 whereas mine is 9480F/9806. Is this gonna make any difference to the mod?

And I can really remove that whacking great heatsink after this?

I beleive the unibios website says what to do, but of course it will be amazingly hard to wire it up even if you get the pinout correctly. Sorry... don't know what to say about that. I was also looking at doing one of these, and I still want to, but I will most likely either be using a larger MOBO with a socketed bios, or I will be making do with a coin switch and the default dip settings. Just get a japanese one if all you want to do is have blood in some of the games... :( sorry I can't help out any more than that.
