Well if you have the cash to dish out, get a PSP. Because if you get one, and you'll be playing more than the games you can buy for it, you'll have to dish out cash for a decent memory stick. The memory stick alone is about $70- 90 ( that's more that half the price of a new DS!) But I myslef would like a PSP, I own a DS and play MarioKart.

I got a PSP giga pack whyle I could.

The stand and the USB cable are crap BUT the 1 gig stick is amazing. I mean, 1 gig sticks sell online for anywhere from $90-$110. The giga pack came with one for $50 CAD.

Unfortunatly acording to some people they were loseing too much money on them so they have discontinued them. Some stores might still have 1 or 2 but it's unlikly.

If you do get a DS, stay as far away from King Kong as you posibly can. It is THE WORST game ever made, and i'm not jokeing. The textures are horible, the gameplay is horible, it dosn't use the touch screen, our Grand Teft Portable has models that look they were made for the 360 compaired to the models in Kong for the DS. Plus i't dosn't involve the New York part of the movie, thats right, it ends on the island.

Go to IGN.com and take a look for yourself, worst game ever made.

I didn't know the radiation part either (I googled it)

I was looking at your "damn the _____" and I saw Radon. So I'm like ok, is Radon 199 radioactive. But now I'm looking at the periodic table and a normal atom of Radon has an atomic mass of 222.
199 is significantly lower than that. I'll google it hold up.

Here:

http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:Fq6 ... +199&hl=en

Rn199 has a halflife of 0.62 seconds.

(Fun Fact: Francium has a halflife of 22 microseconds! Only 5 atoms exist anywhere in the earth crust at any one point in time) <== Not Googled, I knew that fun fact!

NO yyou do not HAVE to buy it, as long as you have wireless in your house. Just get a cheap wrt54g so you can use other wifi devices on your network.

If you have a wireless connection already in your house, you won't need one of those. There's also numerous coffee shops that have free WiFi as well as McDonalds now partnering with Nintendo on WiFi. If you want to play at home and you don't have wireless internet, you'll need one of those, though.

As for your initial question, I admit I'm somewhat biased since I own a DS and not a PSP. However, I have played the PSP for a couple hours and I still have to say go with the DS. Its cheaper, has incredible games out (Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Sonic Rush, Meteos, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, and Metroid Prime Hunters is coming out soon too!), and the graphics really aren't that bad. Yes, in comparison to the PSP graphics are pretty bad, but for a handheld at 130, its a pretty good value.

One thing: If you intend to run homebrew on the DS, it's not user-friendly so far. You need the proper wireless card, only PCI will work. USB won't work for it, and using it with your DS will require a special driver that will make the card useless except for the DS.

There are three ways you can run homebrew:
WifiMe - Best method (above)
PassMe - uses a custom PCB, expensive
FlashMe - patches firmware, some risk involved and doesn't work with newer DSs.
