Here's my theory as to why they're so pissy about it:

1. No life except for whining about things

2. I's not a 360p

3. They wish they could build something like that but don't know enough to express that positively

4. It's not a 360p

5. they don't bother to read the page, so they just assume it's thrown together

6. it's not stuffed so full of parts and filler that it's completely solid like Game Boys.

people can be so silly sometimes...

That's because the people on Hackaday are all about mods and hacking things up. The people on engadget are there to see the latest technology and stuff, without any regard for homemade things.
