juice box
At a store near me they have those juice box mp3 and video players for 18 bucks. Pretty cheap considering they go for like 60. But i was wondering would that screen maybe work for a portable. if not does any one else know of any sweet hacks or ideas?

Yeah the screen isn't easily usable in something else. It does run linux when you play MP3s from SD cards. You can make your own MP3 kit with a little effort (soldering in a SD card slot), and there are conversion tools for converting images without having the CD that comes with the kit.
