write protection sucks!

so i got this mp3 player for christmas (samsung YP-T7). i plug it into the usb and try to drag and drop my music into it but it says it's copy protected! here's what it does:

how do i remove wright protection?

Look all over the MP3 player(read the manual if you have to), there's usually a small lock switch(not hold) somewhere.

rip the music first onto your computer copy/paste then if that doesnt work try reburing it with nero or record now dx then try putting it on your mp3 or when all else fails pirate it it would actually be leagal if the songs you download are the ones you have on the cd

the thing is the one in the example i gave was a free legal download so it shouldn't have wright protection, should it?

if you download it from a sharing program such as lime wire or kazaa it will not have copy protection on it and it would be leagal if you are only downloading the songs you have on the cd

there is a trick, kinda shady, but bear with me:
Use winamp transcoder 5, easy way to get stuff from napster on to an mp3 player. basically it converts it to wav, and then just convert to a new mp3, this trick made that cash for "unlimited mp3 downloads" seem worth it hehe.

This problem has nothing to do with copy-protected music. It's just a generic Windows error, like trying to copy to a pressed CD-ROM.

Does your player use SD cards? If so, make sure the little switch on the card is set to 'write' and not read-only.

Marshalh is right there must be a lock somewhere on the player, It has internal memory of one gig(I did my homework.) see heres what happens when I try to move a file to my SD card when it's set to lock.

i don't think it uses an SD memory card and it has no lock switch

would it work if i used linux instead of windows for it?

Have you tryed calling tech support yet? Sometime it's best to just call someone who atleast knows where too look, it probobly a common error they can help you fix in just 3-5 mins over the phone. Tech support is there for a reason.

for the last time downloading the songs are leagal if you already own them, THey WONT have write protection on them

This isn't "copy"write protection this is write protection, compleetly diffrent things.

Copywrite protection prevents you from copying songs because they are protected under copywrite laws. Write protection is a disk function of the Mp3 player that stops the disk from accsepting ANY information onto the disk, it has nothing to do with the music hes useing, heck he could be trying to copy a .jpg to his MP3 player, it dosn't matter, something is stoping the disk from accsepting data, weather it's a hardware switch or something in the software im not sure.
