Psp Version 1.5
Any one else rocking the firmware version 1.5 I know I am. Got my psp on the 24th last year upgraded in August about to 2.0 and downgraded cause relized I was a retard for upgrading. Haven't touched the fireware yet, unless they release an e-book reader. Anyone else have a 1.5 or even 1.0 psp? If this thread is considered pointless lock it. I'm just kinda bored.
The correct answer is not yet
Give it around 6 months and they will have cracked atleast 2.5 or mode a downgrader. Another 6 months after that (maby less 2.6 isn't much diffrent than 2.5) they will prolly crack it. But noone can be sure, there might be a breakthrough any week now. I'ts just not easy to tell.
You can't downgrade 2.6.........if you just got your psp and it's under store warrenty, take a knife and scratch up the psp lens, take it back to the store and get a new one with firmware 1.52..........If you had it for a longer time, your screwed until someone can run homebrew on the 2.6....but seeing as 2.0 can't run homebrew (exception with the eboot loader) I would expect 2.6 to run any homebrew for at least a year or so......
3 minute battery life with said emu...no drool.Radon199 wrote:I'm at 2.5 and I refuse to go any higher unless something truly revolutionary comes along that really makes me want to upgrade.
Anyways, by the time they crack 2.5 the only real homebrew I'll want, a Play Station emulator. FF7 on the go... drool.
PS360Wii Fanboy FTW!
All Emu is slow at the begining, it just takes a little time for it to get optimized. The reason PSX emulators run well is because they use ISOs. ISOs arn't loaded all at once like Roms are, so they don't need to be stored in memory, this significantly reduces the loads on the PSP, this also allows the PSP to only take what it needs. Also if they can get the PSP to spread the load between it it's too prossessors and overclock to 333 mhz you will be looking at prossesing power of upwards of 600 mhz instead of the 200 mhz the current one uses.

thats the thing i love about the gp2x, the firmware upgrades for the 2x FIX things not break em lol, and yes i consider not being able to freely do homebrew/emulation broken.

Well, since the PSP has more power than a ps2, sooner or later there will be a full-speed ps1 emu. Of course, almost all emu's allow you to run them at 222, 266, and 333. The 333 is normal clock, while it is under-clocked by sony until they can get a more reliable battery. The first regular game to run in 333mhz will be Grand Turismo 4.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.
