PC games

Does anyone know any good sites for older pc games? (win 95 or dos eras)
I remember bicostp mentioning some dos site, but i totally forget the name. Abandom ware games such as doom would also be welcomed (isnt simcity free now or something?)

Ive downloaded quit a few of the games from there. Its a really cool website. *most of the games are shareware but you still can play most of them all the way through.

Check out Home of the Underdogs. You can find full versions of lots of old games, most of which are quite good.

knew it was something with dogs, thanks!!! i have another question now. Does anyone know of a version of daemon tools that is compatible with win 98 (link please) because i wanna mount backyard baseball and all my other games so i dont have to lug around my all my cds/use up battery power on the cd rom drive.

Education video games are awsome, especially the ones that arn't really that educational. My geography teacher said she used Where in the World is Carmen San Deago for SNES in one of her lessons way back in the day. (randomly got brought up when she overheard me and my friend talking about the game lol).

www.dosgames.com is OK. They've got a couple hundred games, but HOTU is much bigger.

Don't forget to pick up a copy of Mo'Slo, so you can play old 8088 games on your brand new PC.

moslo is meant to throttle down your computer, something that is needed for older games, which assumed you were running on one of the older processors. If you tried it on one of the newer ones, everything would be waaay too fast to play.

At least, I'm pretty sure that's what that is

I love that site. They have CHEX-Quest! The best cereal box game ever. I think even Jack T. would have trouble finding something bad within that game, despite it's violence.

Ah, old pc games...I remember some old ones back on my windows 3.1 computer. Some good games were Jezzball, Chips Challenge, Ski-free, and Word Zap. Chips Challenge flippin rocks though I LOVE IT.

Ah you DOS guys. I need to put out a lot more effort to relive my early computer glory days, for I used a Macintosh! Yes, the small computer that revolutionized the home computer market, and almost was never made.

I can't find too many websites that let you download old Mac software.

But there are a few out there. Most of what I use is off of my old Macs (mostly the StarMax 4000 because it has everything), my mom's old accounting machine (Quadra 650. It has Fontographer on it [make your own fonts. pain in the butt to use].

), and from my old MacAddict CDs (I still have the magazines too!)

Some of the Games I remember:
Lode Runner
Let's Get Tanked! (a jazzed-up homebrew version of Atari's Combat)
Once Upon a Time (Let you make and print storybooks, using clip art. In order to select what art you wanted, you didn't click on the radio button next to "tree", you had to type "tree'. That was tedious, but worth it.)
Harry the Handsome Executive (ambrosia software. You play as Harry, and scoot around in your office chair to beat puzzles and evil robots and guys playing darts. Google it; it's still up there.)

many many more...

I still have all my old Mac floppies around, and my trusty SE/30.

Since my dad always got loaner machines from work, I can't say how many different Macs I had over the years. Maybe I'll make a list tomorrow...

I loved Hexen and Wolfinstine 3d.

Those were the only games I had with my first PC.
