will 3.7v be to much

I have these awesome 3.7 volt lithium batteries and I was wondering if 3.7v is to much for the N64 board. I've done too much work to fry my n64 now.

if I remember correctly, the 3.3v line is pretty sensitive to differences in voltages. I wouldn't risk it, just buy a regulator

The 3.3V line is definitely to sensitive for 3.7V! The original boards may take that, but the more common boards only have a flexibility of a couple of tenths of a volt.

I have a 1999 board so it prolly wont work

where is a good place to get dc/dc regulators? also will a 10v battery be powerful enough for the 12v line thanks.

i found a chip that takes a lithium ion battery (specifically) and outputs exactly 3.3v. i dont remember what it was called, but i think dallas/maxim made it. it was called like "lithium ion 3.3v buck/boost convertor" or something. anyhow. such things exist. good luck in finding one

a normal dc-dc convertor wornt work. the voltage on a li-ion battery starts at ~4v and drops to sligtly less than 3v as it is discharged. you cant accomplish 3.3v with only a step up or step down converter, you need a buck/boost convertor.

also, there arent and dc/dcs that i know of that can take 3.7v and output 3.3v, usually they take in like 5 or 9 volts
