Ok you can install the OS in any order you want. What is important is the bootloader, which is on the first 512k of the whole hard drive. And for the boot loader you can use either Winodws default, Grub, Lilo, ect.
I plan on having a couple partitions: one for XP and all its stuff (programs, profiles...), one for documents and other clutter, and one for SuSE. Where does the bootloader get installed to, and what order does it all get loaded? GAAH so confusing to a first-timer!
Boot loader is the first 512k on the hard disk, this can not be taken by any OS, it can only be erased or over writen. If either of those happen you'll either not be able to boot or you'll have a new/different boot loader. As for the order things get loaded, like OS's that is up to you. You can have it default to an OS after a specific time, or hang there until one is selected.
And I've been here for roughly 10 months now and I still don't get it; Every so often someone will add "(sp?)" to a sentence or statement. What's up with that? Some in-joke from the days of old? I don't know why, but it's bugging me...
(sp) is used after a word by the person who know or thinks the work they typed is misspelled. So the (sp) is used as a tag to tell everyone that is should be read phonicly or should try to read it tell they can understand whats being stated.
