Why all this talk of iPod video when the zen vision or zen vision:M is 10 times as good? I mean isn't the battery life of the iPod like 1.5 hours playing videos?

I think the iPod with Video is just a bad idea. No TV recording, unless you're smart. $1.99 for videos on the go  , come on!

Well if by "smart" you mean use a program to encode videos in H264 format then yes. And I don't think I'd even buy song via iTunes if I got an iPod, I enjoy illegal music too much (after all it's the new drug!).

Uh so it's only 2 hours, considering its an MP3 player adopted to play videos and photos.

As for the way to encode to play videos on the iPod. The easiest is to pay the $30 to get the Quicktime Pro and you get the ability to encode in Quicktime and H264. Others you can likely find via google search.
