Did the intergrated wireless come with its own utility or does it assume that windows will configure it? The most obvious problem would be that your wireless security settings are to low or to high.

Holy crap! My sister has the same laptop too, we had trouble connecting it to our D-Link. I'll go and inquire on what we did to solve it, and then post back.madc0w wrote:lol, kinda skimped on the details. Its a win xp and has integrated wireless. Its a dell inspiron 5150 (rhinestoned too) It just doesnt allow me to connect to anything. I have no idea where to start.
Edit:
Well first of all, are you getting any signal or confirmation that it's finding the router? If not, either the wireless card is bad, or the router is bad. Otherwise (if it is connecting to the router), I can help.

Did you turn the wireless switch on? (I'm not joking) My dad brought his Toshiba laptop home yesterday for me too fool around with. (It's a 3.0 Ghz, 1 gig of ram with a HD screen) anyways, I tyred for 10 mins to get it to recognize my wifi router. Finally I went looking around the laptop for this damn switch and found it ressesd on the fount. Now it detects the WIFI fine.
