I have been having troubles sharing a power line with my PS2 and PSOne screen (even after using a 7808 reg). It's been bothering me for a while that even with the reg there are some faint lines accross the screen when playing my PS2. At first I thought it was simply the power line and that it needed to be more regulated. So I regulated the crap out of it adding 2200uf caps, 0.1 uf caps, 3k resistors to ground, etc. That wasn't the problem. Then I found if I added 1ohm between the power out from the 7808 and the power in to the LCD that the lines weren't quite as notceable...but still there. So I thought (reasonably), too much voltage right? The 7808 only outputs 1A so it isn't current. Maybe it was the .5v nominal differenct between the 7808 and what the LCD should have? SO I built a 7.5v dc-dc converter and the problem was STILL there >:(
However, then I looked over at myu Zenith PCB (now broken) and thought I'd add that little extra inductor and...
VOILA! PERFECT VIDEO FROM THE REGULATOR. and I mean PERFECT
Man, the people at Zenith really know their stuff :O
Additionally there is a 17k resistor accross a cap from the far left LCD circuit. I added that but haven't noticed any real difference....maybe it cleaned up the interception a bit.
