Broken screen on ebay

There is a guy on ebay selling a psone screen and the current bid is 5.50!
But when I read it said it was broken.He said the backlight didnt work.So I was just wondering if you guys could tell me how to fix this problem because I have just started this kind of stuff a few days ago and I need a psone screen.

If you're positive it's JUST the backlight, then HELLZ YEAH!!! GET IT!!!

For a portable screen, you basically get rid of the backlight and replace it with other crap that uses less power.
