Good co-op games?

Post by psychotic_mechanic »

My wife really likes playing Dark Alliance 2 with me, I've lost track of how many times we've beat it etc. I'm looking for other top-view 2 or more player games where you can customize items and characters as you progress.

We hated the PS2 port of Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, I don't know how they managed to make a great N64 game that bad. X-men Legends was OK. Champions of Norrath was also OK. I've got a gamecube on the way with Zelda 4 Swords and Crystal Chronicles (I know it's supposed to be bad, but it was nearly free).

I need to buy another PSP so we can play the Brotherhood of the Blade together.

That's one of the favorites for the kids (9 and 12 years old) to play with me. Of course they need the 30 lives much more than I do and end up "borrowing" a few of mine. :)

I've rented a few things at the video stores that say 1-2 players on the case, but the 2 player game ends up being some lame versus mode tacked on.

Has anyone played Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows yet? The marketing guys connected to it at least did a good job.

Well I like Sven Coop, its a Half-Life 1 mod (Soon to be HL2 also) I play it with my friends sometimes. Splinter Cell Chaos theory had an alright coop mode. It got really hard at one point though. Im a sucker for coop games.

Tales of Symphonia was the best GC game ever. Not only is there violence, cheesy voice acting (Robin from Teen Titans as the voice of main character), and classic RPG elements, but battles in real time, so none of that crappy turns thing a la Dungeons and Dragons.

**EDIT**

Tales of Legendia?! A new game in the Tales Series  ?! I am so buying that!!

If you're interested in emulation, or else spending a lot of money on a game/system, Neo Geo's Metal Slug is pretty good in a 2-player mode :)
