I own a Stuntmaster Headset. I got it ages ago and I dig it immensely. For the last couple of years, I've been looking into ways of hooking it into my TV. Luckily, I've found a few good hacks. It'll take a composite signal.
The question I have is would it be a realistic solution for a portable screen? Sure, it would be fun to use this head-mounted screen for games but what could be done for the battery? The AC adapter reads 6V at 700MA. The insides have a bit of empty space in the arms for the headphones (I'll get folks some images asap if interested) but it feels too cramped for a proper battery hook up.
Even if I loose the headset and snatch the screen, would it be worth the trouble? I'm pretty lost. My curiosity outweighs my tech knowledge on this one. o.@

By the way, my intentions for this project is simply a screen. No more, no less. Like a "Universal Portable" of sorts. Just add modded system of choice and away you go.

from what i ahve heard the lcds in the victormax are pretty low quality, its form the late 90s and probably STN but i would go for a composite mod, that owuld be pretty sweet

Rock On.
Thanks for the links and the whatnot! I'll see what I can do for getting the mod done as the items I have here a for a complete overhaul of the adaptor piece itself. In fact, the info I was using before classes started up was a lot more involved than that Sega port mod.
After cracking the headphone sides and tracing the wires, I may have to ditch them. The speaker wires are toast and I've got bigger and better headphones in my sights. Once I get the thing up and running, I'll report back on the screen quality. Wish me luck!
