Atleast your name shows how much you need to learn.......how old are you, you have to know what sheet metal is...it's up there with duct-tape......anyway, i don't know where you live, but in the U.S. you can go to Home Depot or Lows for a lot of things, such as wood and sheet metal...also, you should search...but sheet metal is kinda like tin foil, but thicker and sturdier.....well, not really...but it gives you a good pic of wut it looks likesupernoob wrote:whats sheet metal? Also, where can i buy it and for how much?

Don't take this the wrong way, but i think you should wait awhile till you start your portable. Try to learn as much as you can. My Uncles taught me a lot about electronics, and my dad is very helpful...my mom is well, the typical "Take it apart b4 u blow something up" type of caring mom...
Don't be afraid to ask questions, but search everywhere here and POD....heck, even google! I wish you good luck, but if you know whats best, wait a while......i preped for 2 weeks before i actually started....making sure i understood everything. Oh, the most important thing of all is the amount of fun you have.....not the results, i would be happy even if my GCp fried........i would be upset, but happy

I went through 3 N64ps before actually working on my GCp.....if you've even got one portable done it's a lot of good experience that'll make it so much easier
. hell, if I wasn't so busy and had about million (er, 3 or 4) portablizing ideas to try I'd do a PS2p...maybe next year, around fall....'till then, though, I'm working on a secret N64p project
.....should be interesting.
about this, too:
well, I consider actually playing the portable fun, not building it
....of course, when it's the third/fourth GCp you're working on, I suppose the fun is out of it
...it becomes more like work, but the reward is great
. building your first portable is an awesome experience, though, and it's better if you have a cart. based system, IMHO (NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, etc.) to start out with.

Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
