Finding positive pins

Is there any easy way to identify the positive power pin on a board? See I don't have a correct plug that fits, and I'm trying to locate the positive. So yeah any easy things to look out for?

psone screen? 1st pin on slot 1

Nah, not the psone screen, I wouldv'e found that info out on here if needed. I'm not even sure if it'll work, it's a gps screen I believe. Has a 13pin connector. On the side is colour and tint dials so yeah. I just wanna power the thing up first then poke around for some signals.

Look for where the traces go. Positive should lead to some kind of power management thing-amajigger.

Use a multi meter to figure otu which pin is ground. ONce you know that, then you know the other pin is positive.

It likely has a short circuit protection protectuion built in. So you could just try powering it on one configuration, and if that dosn't work, switch the wires around.

This could possibly fry it though, so only use it as a last resort.

EDIT: wait, a 13 pin connector! Yeesh... I have no idea then.

You can do some research for any ICs used, and find which pin is V+, then use a continuality or resistance tester to find out which input pin connects to that.
