SNES games battery replacement

i dont know why but it seems really hard to get the coin battery out of my snes games it seems like the peice of metal holding the battery in is stuck to the battery any one have any advice for me so i dont completrely copulate up my copy of Chrono Trigger

Scratch that, you need CR2032 batterys.

The lithium batteries are spot welded to the metal strip, that's why they're hard to get off. I'd just get a lithium abtter holder from Digikey and rip out the whole battery assembly.

I just ripped the terminals off the battery with my hands. I bent the terminals so that they held the new battery nicely, then secured it all with tape.

problem solved i replaced 4 or 5 game batteries today boy am i glad i bought a game bit. i just ripped the terminals off sanded the new battery and then soldered it on with short wires and secured everything with hot glue. the only annoying one was ff 3 because there was so little room inside the cartridge
