Console Hacking...In Reverse?

Since the whole point seems to be taking a console and making it into a handheld, why not take a handheld and make it into a console? How hard would it be to build a Game Boy into an NES? It was more powerful than the NES already, just got to deal with the monotone colors. THoughts?

*Sees the giant 3 foot tall GBO flash through his mind*... heh. You can do that but its not going to be easy as the Game Boys always use a digital signal with the screen. If you can get a converter to convert the video signal to analoge then yeah, but thats not always easy.

There's also ports to GBA and DS. I thought this scene was about authenticity.

The code they run on is completely different. You'd have to reprogram every game you wanted to play.
You can use a GBA and transverter to make it into a GBA console though. One member (dkap01) made a gba into a bigger one by using a transverter and psone LCD IIRC.

There's that Manta Ray (something ray) thing that someone made too, with the GBA Transverter and a NeoGeo controller. There's instructions and everything if I could find the site again.

That and I saw a giant GBO in an old EGM too; prolly the same issue with the Painstation Pong. (edit: Sparkfist knows what i'm talking about, or I know what he's talking about. Somebody knows something...)

Have you ever heard about the WideBoy? It's a gameboy player that works on the NES. But it was only given to game developers and magazine makers to make it easier to take screen shots of GBO games. I have no picture of this, I only read about it somewhere on wikipedia I think...

And here's a game boy player for N64! Only used by Nintendo officials to show off Game Boy games on a big screen at shows in the 90's.
