Ever seen those "Digital Picture Frames"?! They contain flash memory, you can load pictures to them via USB cable from your PC and then you can hang the picture frame on your wall and it'll display your pictures in a slideshow with a set interval. Some of them come with remote controls.
If you are unfamiliar with them, here's one:
10.6" LCD: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/re ... B0000E6RI3
$374!! Ridiculous!
They have smaller ones with other size screens such as 6.8" but even those are $199.99.
I've decided to build my own. I purchased a Sony PSONE 5" LCD screen off eBay. There are plans on the web how to gut the sucker.
I've also purchased this: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/SanDisk- ... tDetail.do
Got that on eBay for about $18 with shipping.
I'm gonna use that to display the photos on the LCD. I'm gonna stuff all this into a custom picture frame. I'm going to use a Dremel to cut holes in the back of the frame so I can have the power cords and spot for USB cord to run out. Also a hole for the infrared remote sensor because that comes with a remote.
The one thing that bothers me is that the unit will have to use two power cables. Does anyone here have the knowledge to make both units use one power adapter?!
Power Questions..

Try this one for the digital picture frame
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/60 ... v_XSG10001
So basically I wanna gut the Sandisk, gut the PSONE LCD and combine their power into one adapter.
