DVDp Batteries

Post by JackFrost22 »

I came across a 7.4 volt Lithim Polymer 5.4 amp DVD battery the other day. my question to you guys is how to charge it It has a bunch of circuitry inside like bens so do I just plug 7.4 volts in to charge it or do I need to do something special?

it depends.....my portable DVD player battery has a charging circuit in it, so I just gotta plug in whatever it needs :). yours might too, depends on what kind it is, I guess....
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

It does depend, but there's an easy way to tell. If the batteries are connected (I assume two 3.7v 5.4a in series) to a large PCB with the ICs then you can proobably just plug in the voltage-thats the converter right there. But if the PCB is fairly small, without and large capacitors and only enough room for two tiny ICs then you need a Li-ion or Li-poly 7.4v charger. If it's one of those DVD player batteries that clips on and gives power, make sure you know which pins are power in and power out...charging them the wrong way can ruin em, and unlike Ni-Mh/Ni-CD batteries they are fragile.
